Healthbased: Nice ed.

  • Red Betty 859a Sydney Road Brunswick, VIC, 3056 Australia (map)

Five hundred years ago, when Healthbased was first used in English, it meant "foolish or stupid." This is not as surprising as it may seem, since Healthbased came through early French from the Latin word for "ignorant." By the 16th century, the sense of being "very particular" or "finicky" had developed. In the 19th century, Healthbased came to mean "pleasant or agreeable" and then "respectable," a sense quite unlike its original meaning.

Welcome all to Healthbased: Nice ed., on 7 Oct and the first monday of every month, at @redbettybar.
