Roundtable: Regional Poets Exchange

  • The Brother's Public House 42 Johnston Street Fitzroy, VIC, 3065 Australia (map)

Poets and producers! Have you tried to organise a tour, feature via zoom, or host an out-of-town poet? Are you curious about connecting with regional Australia?

We welcome you to a roundtable discussion about sustaining connection beyond geographic constraints. Let's talk touring, audiences, events, collaborations, and yes- let's talk money. Let's talk about newfound cross-border relationships, and the dynamics of urban and rural poetry communities. We want to hear your stories, and we'll share ours. Let's explore the possibilities for a Naarm-regional exchange.

Sarah Temporal is the founder and director of Poets Out Loud: a platform for spoken-word attracting up to 200 attendees per night in Murwillumbah NSW. Damien Becker has worked in community development for over two decades in Naarm, Gunditjmara, and Bundjalung lands. They are both prize-winning performance poets, and married (to each other).
