Brian Walters has been fascinated by poetry for over 50 years.
In 1972, he won the Monash Poetry Prize.
At Monash he studied Australian literature. In those days of well-funded Arts
faculties, guest lecturers spent generous time with students, and left a lifetime of
inspiration. They included Peter Porter, Bruce Dawe, A D Hope and Gwen Harwood.
A number of his poems have been set to music or have inspired musical
compositions, particularly by the composer Hugh Crosthwaite.
He has published three books of poetry:
Angels, like laundry
Brink and
Mothlight
