Glyconic (Live at the Substation)

The thud sublime…” a restless communion of sound, word and visuals unfolds in Glyconic – live at The Substation. Peter Sismanes’ electronic compositions trace a parallel arc: from the delicate intricacies of IDM to the propulsion of 120 BPM club forms. Nic Steyger’s poems give voice to the rhythm of thought and feeling, written to be spoken aloud and carried by sound.

"A Flock of Dreams" by Ash Brom book launch and show

“A Flock of Dreams" (an idea in Four Parts) is a collection of absurdly funny, and funnily absurd, poetry and art by a writer who Paula Darvas once described as "a hardcore optimist taking the piss out of life". The book contains wordplays, toungetwisters, existentialism, relections on life in the current world, and an artwork or three.

Joining Ash Brom's performances of works from the book will be, among others, fellow poets Katie Lohner, Eddy Burger, Helchild and Tej, with MC Juno Valkyrie.

Radio Laria and Girls on Key Poetry Unite to Celebrate Anke and Kathryn Ross

So why do we unite? Well, Girls on Key has recently published: "Dreams at the Crossroads" by Anke and "Askerisks in the Pond" by Kathryn Ross. Two exciting new books by two fantastic poets. Anke is a generous-spirited poet, artist, lyricist and animator who convenes the much-loved Perc.U.lations poetry gig in Dandenong. Kathryn Ross is an enthralling poet whose words convey haunting, and striking meanings. Over the years, both women have been such positive listeners, contributors and supporters to Girls on Key and Radio Laria; and we are thrilled to celebrate their books together.
