Please join us for a night of great poetry with Paul Mitchell in the chapel of the Uniting Church, Castlemaine 6-7pm EST Friday June 7th.

Paul Mitchell has published seven books, including a novel, We. Are. Family. and four poetry collections, the most recent of which is High Spiritspublished 2024 by Puncher and Wattmann. Paul’s work in several genres has appeared in publications such as The Age, The Australian, Antipodes (US), Best Australian Stories and Poems, Cordite, Griffith Review, The Guardian, Heat, Island, Meanjin, Overland, Rolling Stone, and Westerly. He has won, been placed or commended in several literary prizes, and has written works for stage and screen, including co-writing the documentary Actions to Live Byfor the AFL, which covered the Brisbane Lions’ 2001-2003 dynasty. His play, You’re the Man, will have a two-week season at La Mama Theatre in September this year and, in 2023, Paul and Simon Mason performed their poetry-meets-music album, My Coffin Lid, My Shield, at Denmark Festival of Voice (Western Australia) and Sonic Poetry Festival, Melbourne.
