Sustain - what we carry across time and place

  • Open Studio 204 High Street Northcote, VIC, 3070 Australia (map)

Five women creatively working together through bold story-telling in poetry, clarinet and song. Exploring home, place and identity across hemispheres. Nuanced, political, evocative...

Poets - Laura Brinson, Mary Chydiriotis and Vasilka Pateras have published three collections together - Thread (2020), Five Stages of COVID (2021) and The sun didn't suddenly suddenly disappear one day (2023). They perform regularly as part of the Melbourne poetry community, sometime accompanied on clarinet by Anoushka Lenffer (a member of Orkezstar Glasso Balshade). Joining them will be Angela Costi, author of five poetry books/gatherings including Honey and Salt (Five Island Press 2007), Lost in Mid-Verse (Owl Publishing 2014) and An embroidery of old maps and new (Spinifex 2021).
