Poetry from Agitation Hill (ONLINE) ft. Mark Reid & Toby Davidson

Dear Friends, 

please join us for a night of great poetry with Mark Reid and Toby Davidson (zooming from different parts of New South Wales!) on Friday, May 15th 6-7pm EST

Both will read for 20 minutes, followed by the popular QnA before both conclude with a short poem as encore.

The readings continue to grow in popularity across Australia.

As always the zoom link will be posted here on the Thursday prior and the zoom room will be open by 5.45 pm EST

Mark Reid’s first full-length collection Parochial won the West Australian Premier’s Award

in 2000 and his second, A Difficult Faith, was shortlisted for the same in 2006. In 2019,
Mark’s fourth collection Blindside was shortlisted for the Kenneth Slessor Poetry Prize in the
NSW Premier’s Literary Awards. His most recent book The Blessed Affliction: New and
Selected Poems (Puncher and Wattman) was published in late 2025. Mark lives in Oberon on
the unceded lands of the Wiradjuri people.

Toby Davidson is a poet and Australian poetry researcher living on Darkinjung Country on
the NSW Central Coast and teaching on Dharug Country at Macquarie University. His non-
fiction works include Christian Mysticism and Australian Poetry (2013), Good for the Soul:
John Curtin’s Life with Poetry (2021) and, as editor, Francis Webb’s Collected Poems (2011).
Toby’s third collection, The Grand Reopening, was published in 2025 by Puncher and
Wattman.
