Colac Poetry open Mic

  • United Welcome Hall 27 Hesse Street Colac, Victoria, 3250 Australia (map)

Come along to our inaugural Open Mic Poetry gatherings at The Welcome Hall, 27–29 Hesse Street, Colac, on Sundays 20 September, 4 October and 18 October, 2–4 pm.

These are welcoming, informal afternoons for poets and poetry lovers. All voices, all styles and all levels of experience are welcome — whether you are an established poet, writing for the first time, or simply interested in listening and interacting over tea and coffee.

You are invited to share your own poetry, read the work of others, bring poetry in song or accompanied by recorded music. Poetry books for sale and signings also welcome.

The events are free, although donations are warmly welcomed to help cover the cost of the venue, which is light and quiet and has disability facilities and on street parking.

Registration is required, so that we can plan seating and which part of the hall will be best for each gathering.

These are our inaugural events, and we are deliberately leaving their future direction open. What happens next will be shaped by the people who come — their interests, ideas and enthusiasm. We hope these gatherings will grow into whatever kind of poetry community South Western Victoria wants.

Come to share. Come to listen. Come to connect. Come to be inspired.

RSVP via Humanitix.
