Welcome to our Yarra Valley Spoken Word Community.

We meet at The Dreaming Space Academy at Yarra Valley ECOSS, Wesburn on the second Friday of the month and welcome you to join us and share your musings.

This in one of our bi-monthly events with a Feature Artist and 8 open mic spots. Mother Tongue is a place for Passionate, Powerful, Vulnerable and Honest performance; it stands aside from most Spoken Word events in its depth and authenticity.

Our Poetry and Spoken Word events are (usually) held on the second Saturday of the month at 1 p.m., with a Poetry Writing Workshop running from 12 pm to 1 pm for anyone interested.

Please also note the location: Vespertine Gardens at 6 Cadle St, Dandenong, 3175. This location is weather-dependent, so check your emails / the Facebook event and so on, closer to the day and if it looks like it might rain significantly.

With a hearty open section, great original live music from Black Forest Smoke and good value RSL food and drinks. 1pm for a 1.15pm start..

Hello everyone, third Monday of the month is Be Fearless Poetry night!

Why call a gig Be Fearless? It's because I want to present performers whose work the audience would otherwise not experience or for them to see more of. To inspire and expose poets to art or poetic performances they haven't seen before.

There will be open mic of course, plus the famous hospitality of Red Betty!

To The Ends of the 'Verse is a casual poetry night for people to share their works or the works of others. As per usual our monthly gig will have two open mic poetry sets with our own special brand of Outlaw Street Jazz for freestyle raps and singing, LIVE from O'Stranger-Tang, at Cafe Gummo, Thornbury

Maybe you've written a book, or five. Maybe you've got a short story, a poem, a comedy routine or an interpretative dance that you wish to share with a support audience. Everyone and anyone is welcome.
