Friday Night Poets

  • Readings Carlton 309 Lygon Street Carlton, VIC, 3053 Australia (map)

Bright lights. Bold voices. Big cheers.

Join us for a tall glass of plonk and escape the winter blues with a showcase of celebrated poets reading their most recent works. From stanza to slam to sonnet, you’ll be transported through the rambunctious and politically charged world of contemporary Australian poetry. Hosted by Tim Loveday.

The poets:

Emilie Collyer writes across forms. Her two full-length poetry collections: Do You Have Anything Less Domestic?(winner Five Islands Prize) and As If I’m Really There are published by Vagabond Press. She recently won the Victorian Premier’s Literary Award Drama for her play Super.

Eartha Davis is a woman of Ngāpuhi and Celtic heritage living on Wurundjeri land. She is the winner of the 2024 AAWP/Express Media Sudden Writing Prize and a 2026 Poetry In Action Ambassador. Her debut poetry collection, màthair beinn, is out now.

Darby Hudson is an artist and poet from Melbourne and has previously been published in Best Australian Poems. More recently he's had two new books with Andrews McMeel, including the March 2026 release You're Going To Be OK: Because You're F*cked No Matter What.
