Why call a gig Be Fearless? It's because I want to present performers whose work the audience would otherwise not experience or for them to see more of. To inspire and expose poets to art or poetic performances they haven't seen before.
Linh has been quietly proving herself as a valuable part of the Melbourne Poetry scene and it's way past time to showcase what a treasure we have right under our noses. This is why:
Linh Tran is a Melbourne-based poet and has been performing poetry since 2019 at various venues including the Dan O’Connell, Pride of Our Footscray Bar, Open Studio and The Cherry Hotel. She has been showcased alongside other emerging poets in Fresh Voices hosted by City of Yarra Libraries and the Melbourne Spoken Word Prize in 2019.
She released her first self-published chapbook Adventures in P-Minor in 2019 and has been published in LiteLitOne, Unusual Work and Farrago. Her work has also been published in three Australian anthologies: From the Ashes (2020) edited by C.S. Hughes, Shoot the Breeze (2022), published by Girls on Key Press and Finding My Feet (2024) published by the Melbourne Poets Union.
Now that's a bio to be well proud of. So bring your poetry and Be Fearless on the open mic, bring your ears and listen to some magic that will happen at the great venue that is Red Betty. See you there.
There will be open mic of course, plus the famous hospitality of Red Betty!
