Café Philosophique is back in 2025!
Running monthly at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee, we will be exploring the hidden forces that shape our lives through music, poetry and conversation.
Please join us for our opening session on Wednesday February 12th as we deep dive into PURPOSE. Can we always find it, are we looking too hard, is there even such a thing?
Our feature poet for the evening is Sean M Whelan and our musician is Vina. Register here for the open mic: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfOYp-3AqwFXOHGP-Q9YJFCW1n1x1C39JU4JOxOtrZ02yvJMw/viewform?usp=sharing
What is Café Philosophique?
Running since 2017, Café Philosophique brings together music, poetry and conversation to delve deep into the parts of our lives we often take for granted.
In 2025 we are meeting monthly at Werribee’s Bridge Hotel, exploring the intangible forces that shape who we are and how we live. Each month we will pick a new theme that will help us to understand fundamental truths about ourselves, the world in which we live, and our relationships to each other.
How does it work?
Each night will include a feature poet and musician, alongside three open mic spots for those wanting to share a poem, story or song relevant to the nightly theme.
Themes will be announced a month in advance, so you have plenty of time to prepare.
With the performances as inspiration, we then break into small groups to have open and respectful conversations, delving deeper into the ideas. Food will be shared, friends made, and assumptions often challenged.
