This week at Cherry Poets we present our dear friend, poet/writer/movie maker Ken Smeaton. In addition to decades of his own excellent poetry, Ken has been busy in recent years working on a series of films documenting the history of the Melbourne Poetry scene, collected as 'History of Melbourne Poets Venues, 1970s to 2021'. These films were screened in conjunction with Cherry Poets in 2022 and can be found at Ken's Youtube Channel - https://www.youtube.com/@KenSmeaton/videos - in addition to his many RealPoetryMedia movies that you should absolutely check out. Ken's books of poetry include 'Real Face : poems 1982-1987', 'Love Poets Live', and 'Coooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeee : political / humorous / userfriendly poems'.
