THIS WEEKEND! Once a year, we get a chance to share the stage with the poets who have gone before... once a year, the living and the dead share the open mic with one another.... and that time is NOW UPON US! That's right - this weekend we have DEAD POETS DAY once more at the Cherry Poets. What that means is... bring along a poem or two from favourite dead poets to read on the open mic and... why not? Read a piece or two of your own (if you're feeling especially daring). No feature this time round: just a chance to share the poetry love. Those of a more rakish disposition may choose to adopt the clothing and manner of the favoured poet also: don Elizabethean costume to read a piece by Shakespeare! Dress up like a Flapper to celebrate the works of Dorothy Parker!
So yeah, it'll be fun. Dead Poets Day! Spread the word! This Saturday, 1.30 pm for a 2pm start, Cherry Tree Hotel, 53 Balmain St, Cremorne!
COST: Free
ACCESSIBILITY: Step up to access to venue. Staff can assist with entry for wheelchair users. Toilets may be too narrow for wheelchair access.
