Hello folks, we've got quite a nice little poetry gig going on here at Cherry Poets, and yes, we also have it going on Easter Saturday! And we are super proud and excited to have an excellent feature during Easter - HELEN JARVIS, hot off the heels of a recent book launch. We're sure to get some new poems, maybe some old favourites, and who knows what else? Bring your own poems for sharing on the open mic, and we're going to have a little ol' poetry shindig - this Saturday, from 2 pm (doors open at 1.30), at the Cherry Tree Hotel.
MORE ABOUT THE FEATURE:
Helen Jarvis is a UK-born poet and teacher who has lived for two decades on the land of the Bunurong People. In 2024 she was runner-up in the Gwen Harwood poetry prize; her writing has also won the Ada Cambridge awards for poetry and for biographical prose, and the Nillumbik Ekphrastic award. Her first poetry book, ‘The Kindness of Water’ has just been published by 5 Islands Press.
