  • Cherry Tree Hotel 53 Balmain Street Cremorne, VIC, 3121 Australia (map)

This week we are happy-wrapt (wrapt-happy? hmm) to present to you the brilliant Sarah St James. One of our finest younger generational poets*, Sarah (who you may know as Sadie) has range and depth to be very much admired. So come and admire. And clap lots, and read on the open mic if you wanna. Sign up from 1.30pm, gig kicks off at 2pm.

(*I'm close enough to 50 to be able to use the phrase 'younger generational poets')

BIO
Sarah St James, or Sadie- depending who you ask- is a spoken word poet and outspoken Trans Woman. Born and raised in so-called Brisbane, she grew up performing amateur theatre at Brisbane Arts Theatre. She has been performing her poetry since 2014 at slams and open mics, along with a one man show in her second year of University: “Last Drinks Before Dawn” exploring themes of gender, sexuality and vulnerability. Having moved to Naarm in 2018, she experienced the entirety of the Covid lockdowns off the back of a breakup and in the midst of an Autism and ADHD diagnosis, among others.
She has been published in the anthology “In-Flux, trans and gender diverse reflections and imaginings.”
Her first solo publishing venture was the hand bound anthology “The Brown Paper Diaries” soon to be available in print
