Good people of the Internet! This Saturday we at the Cherry Poets are very excited to have as our feature SIMONE SPITTLE, making a wonderful return to Melbourne poetry after a few years in Perth. She's a poet, a singer, a songwriter, musician and cabaret artist, and now she's joining us! Plus there'll be plenty of the famous Cherry Poets OPEN MIC, good conversation and company, and a wide array of viands and refreshments from the bar. A salubrious occasion indeed! So join us this Saturday, from 2pm-5pm, at the Cherry Tree Hotel - 53 Balmain Street, Cremorne - for what is sure to be a singular event!
ABOUT THE FEATURE:
Simone Spittle is an unfiltered, queer writer and musician with a passion for painfully honest storytelling about all the things you’re encouraged to hide. Having recently moved back to Naarm/Melbourne, Simone is returning to the spotlight after an extended hiatus to record her album, fall in love, adopt a few fur babies and heal intergenerational trauma. Simone has toured nationally several times, most recently with her one-woman cabaret show ‘Beauty In The Beast’ for a residency at the Butterfly Club theatre in Melbourne. Authentic, raw and gifted with a captivating voice, Simone has the innate ability to weave her story into songs and poems that feel like your own.
