Bill Wootton of Hepburn Springs will launch Watch, his first full collection of poems at Chamber Poets on Saturday, June 10 at Woodend RSL, where he has been a regular reader since 2017.
Bill has been writing poetry for twelve years and published Crossroads, a chapbook in 2014. He has also been a keen participant in ginko nature walks led by Myron Lysenko and has had some of his haiku published in Frogpond and failed haiku.
He edits Local Lines, a regular feature in the Central Highlands publication, The Local. At the launch Bill will read a selection of poems from Watch which will touch on the sorts of things he has watched throughout his life as a boy growing up in the suburbs of Melbourne, as a teacher and bush blocker in Cottles Bridge and as an amateur gardener and Collingwood supporter in Hepburn Springs.
