Folks folks folks!! We are back next month for Mixed Bag Naarm April!
For friends that haven’t attended before MBN is a monthly spoken word open mic, with a different feature act each month. We are based out of the iconic Beans Bar and are dedicated to promoting and encouraging queer voices from all over, so make sure to get down!

This month we are excited to present Jessica Sutherland as our feature!

Jessica works as a mental health peer worker, focusing on breaking down power imbalances through decolonising therapy and kindred wisdom. Her praxis is grounded in lived experiences of neurodivergence, disability, grief, and queerness. Enamoured by the stories of strangers, they invite others to join in the process of unmasking. Jess is a beacon of vulnerability, hope and kindness. What shines through most predominately in her work, however, is a sense of understanding and empathy. Jess is a creator that will make you feel at home with yourself, in a room of strangers.

So make sure you come along next month. Signup for open mic is on the night at the door. Feel free to come with friends or alone (we promise you’ll meet some pals there!)
