Folks folks folks it’s been a long time coming (not really) but we are back for May!! Join us for the most splendid time on Thursday the 9th of May for our monthly open mic, featuring Kaurna land champion of spoken word: Drew Cuffley!

Coming in at 5 foot 7 inches and 60kg Drew is a metaphorical heavyweight in the Adelaide poetry scene. Mixing hip-hop influence with themes of political satire, existentialism, identity and comedy, Drew’s style aims to place emphasis on the topic as well as technical structure. Some have called him the “math rock” of poetry (out of love I’m sure).

But in all seriousness, Drew is one of the most heavy-hitting poets emerging. A truly lyrical wordsmith, Drew is unafraid to touch on difficult subjects, always reigning them in with some tongue-in-cheek comedy.

So make sure to be there or be square! Tickets are on sale now, at the link in my bio and even if you’re on the fence about coming, we recommend you come and watch or speak if you’re feeling brave!!
