PoetiCas has been hosting regular poetry gatherings in Castlemaine since 2015. Our monthly events have become a cherished part of the community. Regular monthly gatherings include a featured poet and an open mic segtion, which you register your interest on arrival.

Our guest reader for October is Tric O'Heare

Tric O'Heare's poetry has appeared in many Australian journals, newspapers and anthologies. Her most recent collections are Marrow (2021) and Like a Girl on a Page (2024) and a collaborative collection with Ross Donlon, G&S: Ghazals and Sonnets in Conversation (2025). O'Heare's work draws on both inner city and regional experiences as she ponders the big questions that preoccupy most writers
