Featured Reader: Christine Crowle
Christine Crowle’s life drama began in Edinburgh Scotland before migration to Australia with her family when she was seven years old. Christine’s mother ran a milkbar in Footscray and the family lived behind the shop while Christine and her brothers attended Geelong Road Primary School and later Maribyrnong High School. Graduation from Melbourne University led to a career in teaching which spanned the long second Act of Christine’s life together with child raising and caring for elderly parents. There was some time for poetry, particularly when Christine returned to study for her PhD and some of her poems were published in literary journals such as Poetry Australia, LINQ, Hecate, Art Streams, Tirra Lirra, Mattoid, La Mama Poetica and Going Down Swinging. Now in the Third Act of her life, and less encumbered, Christine is enjoying a return to writing and to the great pleasure of poetry.
