Greetings Poetry lovers!

The 6th annual Poetryspective RetroSlam is upon us.

The slam where entrants recite poems by another poet who inspires them!

Celebrating worlds of words, bringing their favourite spoken word artists to the stage in this retrospective style recital challenge.
Who will win the Poetryspective Discotini and People’s Choice Award for 2023?

Retroslam Rules

There will be two rounds.

Entrants must read/recite two poems written by another poet. It can be any poet.

The best readings will make it through to the second round.

In the second round entrants must read a different poem written by the poet they chose for the first round.
The time limit is 3 mins per poem.

Three winners will be chosen from the second round.

There will be three Judges

Viki Mealings - winner of the third RetroSlam in 2022 for her moving recitals of Maxine Beneba Clarks poetry.

Mat O’keefe- owner of Pride of Our Footscray and proud supporter of Poetryspective.

Monique Anderson- she has attended more Poetryspectives than anyone besides the convener Lish.
