Radio Laria Poetry with Jag and Nadia Rhook

  • Open Studio 204 High Street Northcote, VIC, 3070 Australia (map)

Radio Laria is a community collective for poets, writers, and storytellers to gather, be heard and inspire one another. We are celebrating the Sonic Poetry Festival by featuring two fantastic women from the Melbourne poetry scene: Nadia Rhook and Jag. Nadia is the author of the outstanding poetry collections: “Boots” and “Second Fleet Baby”. She has recently returned from Perth to live in Melbourne and we are thrilled to have her back. Jag is a genre bending spoken word artist, musician, and theatre maker who both channels a variety of characters or, simply performs as herself. Tickets are &10 or $5 concession and are available at:

https://www.stickytickets.com.au/PZC5D

Doors open 7pm and the live poetry kicks off at 7:30.

Our venue Open Studio (204 High St, 3070) is a Northcote institution for culturally amazing gigs.
We are also looking forward to the open mic where poets, storytellers and writers of all kinds are encouraged to share their work. All genders are welcome to read, sign up on the night, 10 slots available and a 5 minute limit. The audience is very supportive and we welcome new readers. Come along and join this warm, vibrant poetry community and don't forget about Open Studio's yummy crepes!

Fotoula Reynolds was originally meant to be performing at this gig, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she has had to pull out. We wish Fotoula all the best and we will reschedule her for another Radio Laria night…
