This April, Radio Laria is featuring the technicoloured force of positivity Ela Fornalska and the stunning, queer queen of spoken word Simone Spittle. Ela is a much-loved Melbourne poet who has performed in many spaces, with poetry revealing her wide-reaching love and reverence of life. Simone is a fantastic unforgettable performer of poetry and music, who will have you laughing and crying within moments. This is a gig not to be missed and you can be part of it by joining in on the open mic (10 spots available, sign up on the night). Tickets are $10 (full) or $5 (concession) and are available from:
https://www.stickytickets.com.au/6G2QF
We also sell tickets on the door, but please note we only accept cash.
Doors open 7pm and the live poetry kicks off at 7:30.
Our venue Open Studio (204 High St, 3070) is a Northcote institution for culturally amazing gigs.
For the open mic it’s sign up on the night, and a 5-minute limit. The audience is very supportive and we welcome new readers. Men are welcome to read on the open mic, but please be mindful that this is a night to promote women’s poetry and we ask that you behave respectfully. Come along and join this warm, vibrant poetry community and don’t forget about Open Studio’s yummy crepes!
