Radio Laria Poetry with Stephanie Powell and Leone Gabrielle

  • Black Spark Cultural Centre 126A Gladstone Avenue Northcote, VIC, 3070 Australia (map)

This July, Radio Laria invites you to join us with features Stephanie Powell and Leone Gabrielle for poetry that explores the rooted, the elevated and many things in between. Stephanie Powell is an award-winning poet whose most recent collection Invisible Wasp was brought out by Liquid Amber press in 2024. Leone Gabrielle is a poet, philosopher, and knitter with a growing fanbase in the Melbourne poetry community. Come to listen and maybe share on the open mic (ten spots available, five-minute limit, sign up on the night, and arriving early is recommended for sign up). Tickets are $10 (full and $5 (concession) and are available from:

https://www.stickytickets.com.au/AEKYS

Tickets available on the door, but please remember we only accept cash.
Doors open 7pm and the live poetry kicks off at 07:30.

The audience is very supportive, and we welcome new readers. Men are welcome to share on the open mic, but please be mindful that this is a night to promote women and women-identifying poets, so we ask that you behave respectfully.

Our venue, the grassroots Black Spark Cultural Centre, serves two things that most poets love… coffee and wine! (Other options available if you don’t fit that stereotype…) You are also allowed to bring in food from outside as long as it’s not too messy. Come along and join this warm, vibrant poetry community and check out what else is going on at the Black Spark Cultural Centre.
