Yarra Valley Spoken Word July - Bert Spinks

  • Space Dome at ECOSS 711 Old Warburton Road Wesburn, VIC, 3799 Australia (map)

Please join us in welcoming Bert Spinks as Feature Poet Friday 13th June 2025.

Bert Spinks is a poet, writer and bushwalking guide from Tasmania. He lives in an old train carriage in the forest. Bert's work is largely about the relationships humans have with the environments in which they live. He has performed his stories and poems in a wide variety of settings over the last 15 years.

Bert was looking to create more opportunities on the mysterious mainland, and made the effort to get in contact with Yarra Valley Spoken Word and requested to attend. We’ve caught him travelling towards East Gippsland to make work commissioned for their Winter Festival (July 12-22) and are thrilled to be one of his stopovers on the way…

Spoken Word is an inclusive project, gratefully made possible by sponsorship from Yarra Ranges Council.
