Assorted Sporks is a free, queer friendly regular poetry and performance night at Mamma Chen's on Thursday September 10

Theme: Damage

Themes are not mandatory, they are just to encourage you to experiment with your writing and improvisation. Feel free to make it weird.

You don’t have to register or get a ticket but it is helpful for numbers, do contact us on either the Assorted Sporks instagram or contact Mamma Chen’s directly if you need wheelchair access to the stage. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

Gavi [Surname TBD] is a well-known poet and headcase, rated the loudest thing in the hospital. They're the author of Sad Girl on a Mic, a poetry anthology described by some as the world's largest traumadump. Their testimonies to all they've survived are best told on an open mic. Come hear all their damage, but remember, it's not a writing prompt.

We also have backing tracks by George available to anyone who wants a variety or electronic music with their poetry, pick a mood and we will do our best to find a track that goes with your poetry if you want something, there are a bunch.

7:00 pm for a 7:30 pm start, sign up will be available on the night.

5 minute limit.

Perform your poetry, creative writing or performance art on the open mic to a friendly audience or come and be part of the crowd. Hosted by Quil Steinberg,(they/them) Sound by George O'Hara (they/he).

ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair accessible venue. Stage is not wheelchair accessible but microphone can be handed down. Toilets are wheelchair accessible.
