Hello everyone, Be Fearless Poetry has its last hurrah on Monday 19th of October. Red Betty will close and they deserve a huge sendoff. We have TWO features! and both are coming over from interstate to help us celebrate! Tineke Van Der Eecken from WA and Nigel Ford from SA! Tineke Van der Eecken has Flemish-Australian multilingual heritage and is based in Walyalup (Fremantle, WA). Her work explores local ecologies and fragilities through poetry and visual art. Her third book, a first full-length poetry collection, is A Place To Land (Mulla Mulla Press, 2022). She is in Naarm to present her solo exhibition ‘Precarities’ at Brunswick Street Art Gallery from 22 October to 8 November, as part of Radiant Pavillion 2026. Nigel Ford is one of those poets who makes you feel you are not at a poetry gig if he's not here. I could use the words pillar, mainstay, legend or any such words but instead I'll use the words Rattlin' Good Bloke. There will be an open section of course, plus one last opportunity to experience the famous hospitality of Red Betty. See you there.
