Café Philosophique explores the hidden forces shaping our lives through creative arts, writing and conversation.
We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee. We explore a new theme each night through a performance or workshop, feature poet, prompted creative writing, an open mic, and facilitated conversations.
On Wednesday September 16 we will explore HUMOUR.
What does our brain think is funny, and why? Why does humour sometimes creep into the darkest moments? Why does it feel so good to laugh?
These are just some of the questions we will explore on the night!
We will begin with a comedy class with Morry Morgan. Morry founded the Hard Knock Knocks Comedy School, a stand-up comedy school that trains keynote speakers, newbie comedians and bucket list tickers.
We will then hear from our feature poet who will set the scene for our own writing time, using prompts to help put pen to paper to explore our own relationship to the night's theme.
After our open mic, we will end with delicious desserts and our "philosophy café" - small group, facilitated conversations where we listen and learn from each other about our relationships with our bodies.
