Café Philosophique: Sacred

  • Bridge Hotel 197 Watton Street Werribee, VIC, 3030 Australia (map)

Café Philosophique explores the hidden forces shaping our lives through creative arts, writing and conversation.

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Bridge Hotel in Werribee. We explore a new theme each night through a performance or workshop, feature poet, prompted creative writing, an open mic, and facilitated conversations.

On Wednesday April 15th we will explore THE SACRED.

What do you hold sacred and why? What does it mean to hold something as sacred? Is there a lack of sacredness in our lives, what does that result in?

These are just some of the questions we will explore on the night!

We will begin with a ceramics workshop with Nandita Ceramics. While creating small pendants to take home, we will reflect on what we hold sacred and why.

We will then hear a music performance from Indian classical Sitarist Sarita McHarg. During her thirty-five years playing devotional Indian music, Sarita has become well known for her spiritual and heart-rending playing style, and strong understanding of classical ragas.

After our open mic, we will end with delicious desserts and our "philosophy café" - small group, facilitated conversations where we listen and learn from each other about how we navigate desire within our lives.
