Lish and Paul first met each other during the early 1990s at a poetry venue (either Dan O’Connell Hotel or the Arthouse. A friendship based on shared values and interests evolved into an intimate relationship.
They shared a flat in Williamstown North, made a few attempts at producing poems and stories together … They have laboured together in a literary sense through joint features at events like La Mama Poetica “The heart is a big place…” and other poetry venues around Victoria. They were the super sexy half of the “Overload Poetry Festival” Word Wrestling team, and they have blended duelling haiku with guitar accompaniment.
In the early 2000s, together with Pamela ‘Mimi’ Sidney and Patrick Alexander, they hosted Accidental Poets @ good morning captain and went on to edit and publish Flaming Nibs: an Accidental Anthology.
Lish currently runs Poetryspective @ Pride of our Footscray Nightclub & Bar, where Paul acts as the Igor to her Dr Frankenstein.
Perhaps their greatest literary achievement is their twin engines of chaos, their children Kendra and Tyrell (DNA is a kind of poem).
