Welcome back!

Our Poetry and Spoken Word events will be held there on the second Saturday of each month from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

If you'd like to attend the poetry workshop beforehand, I'll be holding it in the library to avoid the winter weather. The workshop will start at 1pm and last until 2 pm. At that point, I'll be setting up the event space on the library's ground floor.

Do consider wandering past The Nong Cafe for a quick bite or a takeaway coffee! There are other great food and drink venues around as well.

This September Aloma Davis returns to feature

Aloma (they/she) writes pieces that are concerned with kindness and whimsy. Despite her best efforts, birds frequently fly into her poems. This year, she was privileged to be shortlisted this year for the Newcastle Poetry Prize and Heroines Women's Writing Prize. Aloma divides their time between living in Melbourne/Naarm, Australia, and living in their head, where they have a library with one of those sliding ladders, Haast's eagle as a pet, and work-life balance.

Additional Information:

There is both free and paid parking around the library, and the Dandenong Train Station is quite close as well.

The Dandenong Library is a public space, and many young people and families visit on the weekend. Therefore, open-mic and feature presenters are asked to keep their works in the 'G' to 'PG' range for this event.
