Perc.U.Lations ft. Jaap Singh

  • Dandenong Library 225 Lonsdale Street Dandenong, VIC, 3175 Australia (map)

Greetings all Perc.U.lators!

Welcome to our second event in our new home in the Dandenong Library. There is both free and paid parking around the library, and the Dandenong Train Station is quite close as well.

Our Poetry and Spoken Word events will be held there on the second Saturday of each month from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

If you'd like to attend the poetry workshop beforehand, I'll be holding it in the library to avoid the winter weather. The workshop will start at 1pm and last until 2 pm. At that point, I'll be setting up the event space on the library's ground floor.

Do consider wandering past The Nong Cafe for a quick bite or a takeaway coffee! There are other great food and drink venues around as well.

Let's make June joyous!

Our feature this May is Jaap Ardas Singh!

Jaap Ardas began writing in early 2019. Since then, he has been slowly immersing himself in poetry and the poetry scene, filled with many great voices in Melbourne.

He likes to write poems about life, nature, spirituality and the common human experience in its various forms. Jaap Ardas is also a numerologist, kundalini yoga teacher and food gardener, and these fields influence his poetry. He also often writes poems to help him understand his own feelings and decipher what life is trying to teach him.

His appreciation of poetry lies in listening to others as well, as he feels it helps him better understand life/himself

Additional Information:
The Dandenong Library is a public space, and many young people and families visit on the weekend. Therefore, open-mic and feature presenters are asked to keep their works in the 'G' to 'PG' range for this event.
