Anne Gleeson grew up on Eastern Maar country on a Soldier Settlement farm between Camperdown and Derrinallum in the Western District of Victoria. She is a writer of essays and prize-winning poetry, published in books, journals and newspapers. She has presented her poetry in Ireland, the USA, Estonia and most states of Australia. Last year her fourth book of poetry The Deepest Thing: A Poetic Memoir was released. In it, Anne narrates the story of her sister who has lived with multiple disabilities since birth. Telling the story of people who cannot speak for themselves has been a key feature of her non-fiction poetry.
