Our Feature Poet for July is the amazing Evelyn Hartogh. This beautiful human began a career in performance art in 1992 at Isn't Studios, & Bartleme Galleries in Brisbane. She gained notoriety for vacuuming the Queen St Mall in 1994 dressed as Wonder Woman. Her predominantly text based work led to performances at poetry festivals, cabarets, & conferences. In 1997 she completed a Master of Arts in Women's Studies at Griffith University, followed by completion of a Master of Arts in Creative Writing at the University of Queensland in 2002. Between 1999 & 2009 she was the arts editor at Queensland Pride Newspaper & a columnist for LOTL magazine, as well as publishing in numerous academic & alternative print, & online journals. In 1996 she began releasing chapbooks of her performance scripts with photos of herself in character, & recently released her eighth chapbook SOLD OUT which collected her most popular performances. She is currently in the final stages of research & editing of a large non-fiction book which compares 80 years of Wonder Woman comics with the Ancient Amazons in classical Greco-Roman works, & recent archeological discoveries.
