Chamber Poets - second Saturday of each month 1pm -4pm Woodend RSL.

Poetry, books, music, door prizes, food and drink - a wonderful combination on a Saturday afternoon.

Plus Open Section and music by Black Forest Smoke.

Gisborne author, poet and singer/songwriter Russell Forster will be the featured performer at Chamber Poets on Saturday 11th July.

A secondary school teacher for over three decades, specialising in English and Literature, Russell Forster has had poetry published in literary journals including Meanjin, Westerly, Island, Overland, Going Down Swinging and Cimarron Review (USA). He has had essays published in Australian Book Review, Overland and Quadrant magazine.

He has also authored a couple of student guide books, one on The Plague by Albert Camus and another on Cat’s Eye by Margaret Atwood.

Forster has been a regular at Chamber Poets reading poetry or performing his quirky riginal songs and this year he has twice won the coveted Poet of the Month trophy for contributing the best piece to the Open Section.

COST: Entry by donation $10 / $5 (CASH ONLY)
